Our crews were called on a Sunday afternoon to a local factory here in Bowling Green. One of their employees hit a pipe with a fork lift and busted it. When lightening strikes!
On Friday, December 10th, the Richardsville Fire Department crews worked a structure fire at Woodburn Baptist Church. According to Chief Skipper, the fire damage was confined to the church's attic and sanctuary ceiling. Fire Chief, Bob Skipper says it appears it was an electrical fire, or started because of ceiling-mounted lights.

SERVPRO of Warren County received a call to travel to St. Louis, MO to help with the influx of claims that had come in due to massive flooding. Our crew loaded up and was on the way in a flash. By the time the crew made the 4 hour trip, our home crew had called several customers and had appointments lined up and ready so they could hit the ground running. We had six of our team members in the St. Louis area for 10 days helping out the local franchises during their time of crisis.

This home sustained severe damage when lightening hit the roof and caught it on fire. The Fire Department had to put it out with water which caused even more damage. SERVPRO of Warren County was on the scene within an hour of receiving the call. There was a lot of structural damage as well as the contents being damaged and destroyed. Our crew spent hours sifting through the items with the customer to pack up what was salvageable and bring it back to our office to be cleaned and stored until repairs are complete. The homeowner will have to move out until all the work can be done, however, they feel safe in the knowledge that we are going to make things "Like it never even happened."
Torrential Rains cause flooding in Ohio

This home in Cincinnati was flooded with sewage when torrential rains caused the city storm drains to overflow. SERVPRO of Warren County was at the scene to help out local franchises that were inundated with jobs. There was sewage and debris scattered about and our crew was suited up in tyvek suits, gloves and masks to ensure their health and well being was protected. The crew had to remove most of the contents from the garage and basement of this home due to the category 3 water that had saturated the items. Several hours were spent hauling out furniture and trash as well as mopping up sewage and wiping down hard surfaces. When all the mess was cleaned up, we then sprayed the area with antimicrobial in order to sanitize everything. The customer was very happy to have someone else take some of the burden of their loss away.

There were 2 apartments affected when a water line burst in the bathroom of one apartment. The tenants contents were saturated and had to be moved in order to begin the drying process. While part of the crew met with the manager and got paperwork signed and explained the process to everyone involved, the rest of the team set to work. We had to pack up contents, move furniture and extract water. We were then able to set the drying equipment to begin getting things back to normal. Luckily our SERVPRO of Warren County team was on site in time to keep the damage from spreading any further. After 4 days of drying equipment running and then spraying antimicrobial spray we were able to get things back "Like it never even happened."

A leaking pipe under the bathroom sink caused significant damage to this Warren County home. The hardwood was saturated in 2 rooms and had to be removed and the water also leaked down in to the crawlspace and insulation had to be removed in half of that area. Our team of trained technicians were able to extract the water and get the hardwood, carpet and trim pulled right away so that equipment could be set to prevent any further damage. Several Air Movers and Dehumidifiers had to run for a few days in order to get everything dried to industry standards. We were done with the dry out in 4 days and the customer was able to contact their contractor to begin putting everything back in place.

A plumber was on the way to stop the leak and the local Insurance Agent recommended that she call SERVPRO of Warren County to take care of drying up the mess. We were able to get water extracted, tear out carpet and pad, detach the baseboards and get equipment set up in order to begin drying up all the water.
Our Office works closely with local agents and adjusters to assure that homeowners are taken care of as soon as possible so that their lives are as minimally impacted as possible.

A student set fire to a toilet paper dispenser causing a big mess at a local school here in Warren County. SERVPRO of Warren County had performed work for the School System before so School Officials contacted us and we were on the scene within 1 hour to begin work.
After all of the debris was picked up, our crew began cleaning up the soot and setting negative air equipment to remedy the odor caused by the smoke. It was a priority to get things in order so that the regular school day would not be interrupted.

The resident stepped away for just a moment and the fire erupted causing soot and grease to splatter all over the kitchen cabinets, ceiling and floor. This photo is from late October to early November 2016, in Lumberton, North Carolina. This was a storm event for Hurricane Matthew. There were about 6 franchises chosen to participate in the clean up for the Housing Authority. These were townhouses that we removed all contents, made 8ft flood cuts on the bottom floor, cleaned to SERVPRO standards and dried for 3-5 days. We were gone for approximately 3 weeks working 12 hour days.
While on storm events we just perform emergency services and leave it ready for a local contractor to do the repairs. This is a very humbling experience for all involved and shows the dedication of all SERVPRO employees to spend that much time away from their families in order to help those in need.

SERVPRO Of Warren County recently purchased several dozen new Velo Air Movers in order to keep up with industry standards. These pieces of equipment are lighter and more efficient than the old air movers that we are phasing out.
We follow stringent guidelines set in place by IICRC in order to keep receiving business from local vendors and offices.
Along with our state of the art equipment, we also have highly trained technicians that have to follow the IICRC standards when performing any work on Water Mitigation or Mold Remediation claims. Our crew is IICRC certified to remediate water losses and has to maintain this training by doing follow up classes every 2 years. It is our goal to do things the right way the first time in order to keep our business thriving and our customers happy

Hope for the Homeless
Helping the less fortunate in our community!
The 6th Annual Hope for Homeless event is coming up April 28-30, 2017. Several volunteers for the Realtors Association will be on site at Farmers National Bank on Campbell Lane in Bowling Green, KY accepting can goods and monetary donations to help feed our local families.
Several local businesses have banded together to camp out again this year in the parking lot of Farmers National Bank in order to raise awareness for the community's homeless citizens. They take in donations of non perishable items as well as monetary donations to donate to Hotel Inc. and our local school resource centers to help provide food for children during their breaks. This is a very worthy cause and we hope to get an awesome turn out again this year.

In this residence a severe thunderstorm had passed through town. The wind had torn off shingles and allowed rain water to flood into the home. The entry foyer walls, ceiling, and floor sustained large amounts of water. We were able to get on site and set equipment to begin to dry the structure, but the damage had been done. The hardwood was saturated beyond repair and the ceiling had collapsed leaving drywall and insulation debris scattered. We enjoy being involved with this Association and all that they do with our community including the Annual Hope for the Homeless event as well as monthly meetings to plan events to help out the community.

2017 Home Expo

The 2017 Builders Association of South Central Kentucky Home Expo was held at the Sloan Convention Center this past weekend. Along with SERVPRO of Warren County there were over 50 other booths representing the many businesses of this region. There were many festivities including the Penguin Plunge and most businesses were having a give away of some sort. SERVPRO of Warren County gave away an Apple TV to one lucky person as well as giving out great advice on how to keep your home safe during disaster. The people of the community were able to get lots of tips and ideas for building and decorating their homes and businesses. With Spring right around the corner this was a great start to beginning those new Spring Projects.

Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce Women's Appreciation Event
We can all agree that women are an important part of society. Our local Chamber of Commerce couldn't agree more and decided that they would use an entire afternoon to show the Business Women in our community just how valuable they are. The Chamber set up booths with fun things to do and of course provided a wide array of food. They even had golf carts available to escort the women back and forth from their vehicle to the event. SERVPRO of Warren County had our Sales Marketing Representative, Jordan Strange, take our golf cart and participate in the chauffeuring of these women. It was a very exciting event and everyone seemed to have a great time proving it doesn't require a disaster to bring the community together.

In today's society, social media really helps to get the word out about pretty much everything. Today a local business sought out a water restoration company by posting a question to their status asking if anyone could recommend a company. Several people tagged SERVPRO of Warren County in their comments. Once we saw there was a water loss through social media at this business, we drove over to see if we could be of assistance. After much discussion and walking them through the process of water mitigation, we spoke with their insurance company and they asked when we could start. Within an hour we had our team of trained professionals at the site and began the process of getting their business back in operating condition.

At a local Warren County Park there were some unknown suspects that decided to vandalize the area with spray paint. We received the call asking if we could help and of course we headed out right away. Our well trained crew arrived on site within an hour and with the help of our wonderful SERVPRO cleaning chemicals were able to scrub it away. Graffiti may be art to some, but it has it's place and we knew it was not appropriate for this location. We love being an active part of our community and doing whatever it takes to keep it clean and beautiful for everyone to enjoy.

Don't stall, get to the mall
Our local Shopping Mall was having a store remodel done when the contractor raised his JLG lift a little too high and hit a sprinkler head causing it to burst. The water traveled in to the entire space and the two stores on either side of this one. We worked very hard for several hours on these 3 spaces to extract water and get equipment set because we wanted to keep any further damage from occurring and to get the businesses open as soon as possible. Needless to say, our trained crew had them up and ready to operate by normal business hours the next morning. Thanks to the dedication of everyone involved all three of the stores were able to conduct business "Like it never even happened."
Recently the owners of our Warren County franchise were acknowledged by the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce for having been an active partner for 20 years. We have enjoyed many events hosted by the Chamber and cherish the friendships we have made and maintained through the years.
